Program Director


The Raincoast Education Society (RES) is currently seeking a Program Director from June 1st, 2017 – May 31st, 2018. The Program Director is a full-time, year-round position (5 days/week @ 7.5 hrs/day = 37.5 hrs/week).

The Program Director is responsible for managing RES projects, staff and contractors, including administrative duties and program development, and will be trained to transition into the Executive Director role.  

The successful applicant must possess exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; significant experience managing people and projects; experience managing budgets; strong grant writing experience; ability to work as part of a team on multiple, concurrent projects.  

The successful applicant must have a bachelors degree (or equivalent experience); be passionate about the natural world; have experience developing and implementing education, research and monitoring projects; have experience delivering presentations in front of large groups; have proficiency with email and basic computer software, such as Microsoft word, excel and powerpoint.  

Preferred qualifications:
-Experience living and working on the west coast of Vancouver Island
-A background in west coast ecology
-Experience in the non-profit sector
