2013 Raincoast Summer Camps

In 2013 we offered two, week-long summer day camps: Clayoquot Leaders & The Secrets of Science (descriptions below). We also offered 8 Young Naturalist Programs throughout the summer for children aged   3 - 6 years old. These programs were on a variety of naturalist subjects and ran for one hour every Tuesday morning. Read more about our week-long summer day camps below:

Clayoquot Leaders
July 2 - 5

Ages 6-12 yrs

During the leadership camp children learned how to lead and support their friends in the outdoors. They developed skills to build confidence in themselves and others, and co-operated to overcome challenges together. A key focus of this camp was team building and wilderness survival skills.

Secrets of Science
July 29 - August 3

Ages 6-12 yrs

Science is all about understanding the world through experiments. How do we know where whales migrate each winter? How do we know which fish live in the eelgrass? By designing experiments to answer questions, children learned all about the natural world. Our Secrets of Science camp provided hands-on experience working as a youth scientist in Clayoquot Sound.
