Cape Town born but prairies raised, Emma has spent most of her life in or around water. The legend goes that she could swim before she could walk and she makes a point of proving that every body of water encountered should be jumped into. She grew up snowboarding, waterskiing and competitively swimming and playing tennis. She credits her mom for her love of cooking and her dad for her terrible sense of humour.
Emma is just about finished her degree in Marine Biology at the University of Victoria. She spends her free time surfing, diving, rock-climbing, making mushroom stools, playing the keys and doing all kinds of art. She is also a keen photographer and has carried her camera with her across the globe.
Emma values communal living, sustainability, continuous learning and story-telling. She seeks every opportunity to learn and to teach, believing that knowledge is a gift that should be respected and shared.
