Nuu-chah-nulth Language and Culture Educator

Gisele Maria Martin is a citizen of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation. She is a Cultural Lifeways activist, Tribal Parks Guardian, land vision coordinator, and artist.

She is involved in various Indigenous language volume efforts with local governments and radio, immersion camps, field trips, education institutions and NGOs.

She has presented to international audiences and worked as a cultural educator and outdoor guide since she was 13 years old, and continues life learning to uphold her family’s intergenerational ecological roles and responsibilities in commitment to the place which is home.
