The RES welcomes intern Graeme Broe. Graeme was raised on the southern end of Vancouver Island, B.C., on the tradition territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən which is commonly known as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations, Graeme spent his early years exploring the natural beauty of the surrounding areas.
Many summers spent paddling in the southern gulf islands developing a love of adventure and encouragement from his parents led Graeme to spend a lot of time travelling and working abroad in various outdoor positions. These experiences cultivated a love of natural areas, exploration and learning about flora and fauna.
Once his passions were realized he began a degree and the University of Victoria in the geography department focusing on environment and sustainability. When not working on his undergraduate degree Graeme has spent his time surfing, kayaking, hiking and working for different education and environmental focused organizations across Vancouver Island and is now excited to bring his passion and excitement to the Raincoast Education Society!
