Hailing from the South Island, Tam’s appreciation for the local flora and fauna began early. Tam spent much of their childhood witnessing the annual salmon runs in Goldstream National Park and spent their weekends with overlooking the Salish Sea. These memories were catalysts to a life-long curiosity about nature and its history.
Moving from Victoria to Tofino in the fall of 2014, the decision to stay and keep coming back was hugely influenced by the unique terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems found in both Clayoquot and Barkley Sound. This fascination was only overshadowed by the rich and profound history here.
In their working life, Tam’s job and volunteer experiences have ranged from hospitality, to healthcare, to tourism, to retail, to conservation, to finally landing with us at RES. Their hobbies include illustration, nature, and photography, and their passions are in education and community.
Tam’s goal in life is to never stop learning.
