Tofino Lantern Festival

WHEN: Sunday, August 17th, 2014, 7pm - 10:30pm (Trails open at 8:30pm)

WHERE: Tofino Botanical Gardens

COST: $12 per person, 12 and under FREE (Cash only)

The Tofino Lantern Festival is our 'signature' community event and fundraiser, drawing the young and old with an unbelievable variety of hand made lanterns.  The evening entertainment starts with the Children's Lantern Parade at 7:30pm. Enjoy treats (cash only) by Darwin's Cafe and Solidarity Snacks, music by the Poor Pistols, Candace Dawne Bastien & Aisha Bell, live artistic dance performances, a laser light show and fire spinning. Don't miss out on one of Tofino's most beloved festivals.

This is a drug, alcohol, and car free event. Catch the free Tofino Beach Bus between Town and Cox Bay with an extended schedule including stops at the Garden at 8:05, 9:05, 10:05 & 11:05 heading towards Cox Bay. Visit tofinobus.com for route information. There will also be a free shuttle from the Village Green starting at 6:30pm running every 1/2 hr. Last bus leaves the garden at 11pm. 
 

Lantern Making Workshops

WHEN: Tuesday, Aug. 12 - Friday, Aug. 15: 
1pm - 6pm; Saturday, Aug. 16: 12pm - 3pm ( For final touches and coats of glue only please)

WHERE: Raincoast Education Society Office @ Tofino Botanical Gardens

COST: $10-$15 (this helps cover the cost of supplies)

Have you ever wanted to decorate your very own lantern or better yet create one? Come by the Raincoast Education Society office, under the Ecolodge at the Tofino Botanical Gardens between 1pm – 6pm. Supplies and pre-constructed lanterns (globe or star kits) are available for $10 – $15. Bring you ideas, creative energy & a friend! All supplies are included.
