Enjoy a beer and learn about wildlife.
Every spring Clayoquot and Barkley sounds turn the most beautiful shade of teal – green waters turned milky with herring eggs. That this phenomenon coincides with significant bird activity and a major whale migration is no accident. This hour-long talk will cover the ecological importance of the spring herring spawn to migrating birds and whales. Delivered by biologists Stefania Gorgopa, Shanti Davis and Mark Maftei of Raincoast Education Society.
This talk will be delivered twice during the Pacific Rim Whale Festival.
