Like us, bats need a home—especially for their winter hibernation.🏠 To kick off Ms. Thompson`s class bat box project, we explored the fascinating lives of bats and how they adapt to the changing seasons. 🦇
Next, we got creative by decorating bat boxes, with each student bringing their unique approach to the designs.🎨 After crafting our masterpieces, we headed outside for a lively game of echolocation tag! 🤸🏿♂️

The first is Small Town Big Picture: Tofino - Noveber 21st.
5 - 8pm at Tofino Visitor Centre Conference Room.
⚓️ Learn about local history and basic ecology, cross-cultural understanding, businesses and activities, host etiquette, and important civic information.
These are free West Coast Ambassador Program courses but space is limited so registration is required, so follow the 🔗 in our bio!

We could BEAR-ly believe our luck at the Thornton Creek Hatchery! 🐻
Just as Mr. Reynolds’ class arrived, they caught a final glimpse of a black bear checking the creek for salmon. 🐟
But the real highlight came when Dave demonstrated the hatchery’s spawning methods and shared the crucial role salmon play in our region. 🏞️The students learned how both salmon and humans are keystone species and even got a bonus lesson in career education. What a day to read, learn, and connect with nature! 📚
