Beach Seine at Terrace Beach

Free Event

What lives beneath the waves? Join Raincoast Education Society for a beach seine at Terrace Beach, where an eelgrass meadow lies just below the surface. Get an up-close look at the fish, crabs, and other marine creatures that call this vibrant ecosystem home, and learn about the important role these coastal habitats play in supporting life along the West Coast.

You will have the opportunity to help pull the seine up onto the beach and investigate species caught inside. Raincoast Education Society staff will teach you how to handle the animals caught with care.

These interactive opportunities are FREE, all-ages events. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join! Events will run rain or shine, and gumboots are recommended.

Everyone welcome to this free event!
